Hi all,
I will be out of the country from the 1 September till the 18 September.

John Atkinson (from John’s Facebook page)

Up to now I have had a very low response from teams replying to my last email sent in July to let me know if they are attending the SDU Longsword Tournament in Goathland on the 3rd October with the following information;
  • pre-ordered food/camping/parking
  • a small write up of their teams or if they are exhibiting or competing
  • if they are doing a traditional dance or their own
  • senior side/ladies side/junior side etc
With an expected attendance of over 160 dancers & musicians, the parking of cars/tents/motor homes can not be catered for without having been pre-booked on the forms. Importantly the local tea rooms cannot cater for this amount of people along with visitors to the village. If I have not had a response by my return on the 18 September we will have to call the event off.
I have resent the email from July with the attached forms.
Please note if you require camping/mobile homes/caravan I will need your vehicle registration so I can book you into the private car park, therefore please return the attached form in the email to me. The parking is on concession, if the car park attendant does not have your registration you will get charged the full rate.
Please also fill in the meal form if you require a meal at the Inn on the Moor as this will also be ticket only. As we are catering for 20 teams your help on these matters will be of great assistance.
Could you send me a short blog about your team so that you can be introduced by the MC before your final showcase in the village hall.
All food has to be paid for in advance so please make cheques payable to “Goathland Plough Stots”. For camping/mobile homes/caravans please make cheques payable to “Goathland Community Hub & Sports Pavilion CIO”
Day visitors will have to use the car park opposite the shops.
In anticipation, thank You for your help.
John
