Yes, whoda thunk it? The revamped SDU website and associated social media are one year old today.
In November last year Edwin was asked to take on Paul’s mantle and revamp and update the SDU’s online offerings. We’ve built a wordpress site linked to our Facebook page and twitter feed, updating the latter two whenever we post on the News & Blog page.
In one year we’ve had 12875 website page views with a best ever 294 views in one day. We’ve blogged about subjects as diverse as Vince Rutland’s sleeping habits, multiple European festivals, the Coconutters needing a rapper team to dance with, Handsworth Sword Dancers needing new members and much much more.
The Map of UK sword teams proved popular with 547 page views, as did the Longsword Competition page with 440 views. Rapper has been tagged 30 times in blog posts against longsword’s 22. The most talked about teams on the blog are Sallyport Sword and the Goathland Plough Stots, with 9 and 8 mentions respectively. more could be done with the archives and representing mumming. All information and leads appreciated.
There’s a good level of engagement too with mutliple shares, likes and retweets going on all the time.
We would like to see what you think about the SDU’s online activity, so we’ve devised a quick survey. Please could you consider taking it? and then take it?
We would really appreciate the feedback, so that we can continue to do the things you like and want us to, and less of what you don’t like and don’t want us to do.
The link for the survey is JUST HERE
Thanks for your support, shares, likes, comments and retweets this past year.
