It’s a busy old world in the sword dancing community.
Many rapper teams busy preparing for DERT and longsworders trying to recruit.
The Hoddesdon Crownsmen are holding a Free Rapper Workshop on 23rd March at 11am in the High Cross Village Hall, High Cross, Hertfordshire, SG11 1AN. Their facebook page is JUST HERE, along with details of the event.
If you live in Herts/Essex/Sussex/Bedfordshire then this is the rapper team for you! Contact Tim Short (bagman) on 07503 914189.
Tower Ravens are hitting Islington tonight! They’ll be making their first appearance at The Nag’s Head, Upper Street, at 7:30pm.
Other hotspots include:
The York, Islington High Street
The Camden Head, Camden Passage
The Kings, Essex Road
Taproom, Upper Street
The Hope and Anchor, Upper St
There’s an excellent piece on the Foresters Morrismen’s tradition of performing Plough Monday Plays on the Nottingham Hidden History website.
And finally the Monkseaton Morrismen will be crawling the rapper in South Shields on 6th February. They’ll be starting at the Alum house at 8:00pm followed by the Waterfront, the Steam Boat and then across the river to the Porthole.
Any other sword based news please drop me a line. I’m particularly keen to include longsword activities.
