May 22, 2014 by tommy

On Saturday 31st May, the Museum of British Folklore in collaboration with the Stone Family presents Rattle Up, My Boys; the Trevor Stone Archive Exhibition.

Trevor Stone was a bit of a longsword guru, collecting notations and ephemera over many years and supporting teams wanting to learn the tradition. He sadly passed away in 2009 and his wife, Elaine, gifted his archive to the Museum of British Folklore.

The Museum is hosting an exhibition in Sheffield starting on Saturday 31st May at 11:00am with a presentation of the archive, dance displays by Maltby Phoenix, Handsworth and Grenoside, plus a have a go session at longsword. The presentation is repeated between 5pm and 6pm and the evening session consists of music, song and dance too.

The venue for this event is Strip the Willow in Sheffield, S7 1DF.

Discover more about longsword, learn how to do it, drink local beers and eat homemade food.
